Workplace Health & Safety Orientation*

Length: ½ day to 3 days (based on content)

All workers, supervisors, managers:

All employees who may be exposed to harmful contaminants in the workplace

Why

WorkSafeBC regulations Part 8 (8.32) requires that the employer must provide appropriate respiratory protective equipment if an organization is or may be exposed to concentrations of an air contaminant in excess of an applicable exposure or excursion limit, or to an oxygen deficient atmosphere

Workers Compensation Act Part 11 (11.2) states that “before a worker is allowed into an area where a risk of falling exists, the employer must ensure that the worker is instructed in the fall protection system for the area and the procedures to be followed”

Employees who are in contact with controlled products or are responsible for employees that work with controlled products

Why

WorkSafeBC regulation Part 5 requires an organization to have a Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) program if they have workers which are or may be exposed to controlled products

IVES Forklift Operator Certification*

WorkSafeBC regulation Part 16 (16.4) requires all operators to be certified in operating a lift truck

Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)*

Length: 2 – 8 hours

All employees who participate as a shipper, carrier, receiver, handler or supplier of dangerous goods

  • “No-shows” will be charged 50% of the course fee.
